The Kent Junior Championship 2017 (Round 1) Rules

1. Eligibility
Competitors must be under 18 years of age on 1st January of the year of the Championship entered, and must be a member of a Club affiliated to the KENT GOLF UNION (in the case of a boy) or KENT COUNTY LADIES GOLF ASSOCIATION (in the case of a girl), and in possession of a current competition handicap. Entries will be limited to the number permitted by the Host Club, and if necessary, longer handicaps will be subject to ballot.

The Kent club must be the player’s HOME CLUB.

The maximum handicap at time of entry is 9 (9.4).
A player may only represent their HOME Club in the Championship.

2. Caddies
Caddies are allowed but must be under 18 on 1st January of the year of the Championship entered.

3. The Competition
Play will be over 36 holes of stroke play. The KGU General Competition Conditions shall apply. Separate competitions will be run for boys and girls.

4. The Junior Champion
Will be the player who returns the lowest gross score. In the event of a Tie the Championship will be decided by "sudden death" play-off. The Boys’ Champion will hold the "The Championship Cup" for one year. If necessary, the 2nd and 3rd places will be decided on a "count-back".
County Vouchers will be awarded as prizes – 1st, 2nd and 3rd for boys and 1st, 2nd and, subject to the number of entries, 3rd for girls.

5. A. E. Packman Trophy
Will be held for one year by the male competitor aged under 16 years on the 1st January 2017 who returns the lowest gross score. If necessary, the decision will be by "count-back".

6. Richard Young Cup
Will be held for one year by the male player returning the lowest nett score over 36 holes. If necessary, the decision will be by "count-back".
