Competition Rules



QUALIFYING EVENTS

Each Qualifying event shall be:

(a) 18 hole Stroke Play, Scratch and Handicap for junior members of Kent golf clubs.

(b) decided on countback as appropriate;

(c) played in accordance with the KGU General Competition Conditions.

There will be 4 regional events plus the County Junior Championships – 2 rounds (both rounds to count) with points awarded leading to a grand final at the end of the season.

20 points for 1st, 15 points for 2nd and 10 points for 3rd, 7 points for 4th going down to 1 point for 10th place. Points awarded for both Scratch and Handicap.

Eligibility

Competitors must be under 18 years of age on 1st January of the year of the competition, and must be a member of a Club affiliated to the KENT GOLF UNION and in possession of a current CONGU competition handicap. The Kent club must be the player’s HOME CLUB. Entries will be limited to the number permitted by the Host Club, and if necessary, longer handicaps will be subject to ballot.

Caddies

Caddies are allowed, but must be under 18 on 1st January of the year of the Championship entered.

THE FINAL

The top 10 players in each category, will be invited to play in the Final.

A player can only qualify in one category (precedence given to the Scratch event).
Their points total will be carried forward to the final round to be held at Royal St George’s on Friday 1st September 2017.

Double points will be awarded in the Final.

Vouchers to the value of £125 for 1st place, £50 for the runner up and £25 for third will be awarded at the Final for the Scratch event.
Vouchers to the value of £70 for 1st place, £40 for the runner up and £20 for third will be awarded at the Final for the Handicap event.
