THE KENT AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP
Championship Rules
1. Eligibility
Entry is limited to the Male Members of Clubs affiliated to the KENT GOLF UNION who are in possession of a certified playing handicap of 4 or less.
The Kent club must be the player’s HOME CLUB.
2. Entries may be limited in number, and if necessary, higher handicaps will be subject to ballot.
3. The Competition
The qualifying competition will be 36 hole stroke play. At the end of 36 holes the leading 16 players will qualify for the match play rounds. If more than one player is tied for 16th place the final place will be decided on count- back.
The KGU General Competition Conditions shall apply.
4. Condition of Entry
By entering this Championship, you are committing yourself to up to 6 rounds of golf over 3 days.
If you are unable either to start or complete one of your rounds, for whatever reason, you MUST report to the registration area and inform the County Secretary or his deputy with a valid explanation. Failure to do so may incur a suspension from County organised events.
Caddies are allowed, other than a qualified P.G.A. professional golfer provided that, if the competitor is under 18 years of age on the day of the event, his caddy must also be under 18 years of age.
5. The Champion
Will hold the Championship Cup for one year and will receive a medal and a County Voucher for £250. He will also represent the County in the "Champion of Champions" National Competition.
6. The Runner-Up
Will hold the “Hetherington Salver” for one year and receive a medal and County Voucher for £100.
7. The Losing Semi Finalists
Will receive a medal and County Voucher for £50.
8. The Scratch Cup
Will be held for one year by the Competitor with the lowest gross score over day one’s 36 holes Stroke Play.
9. The Astor Cup
Will be held for one year by the Competitor with the lowest nett score over day one’s 36 hole Stroke Play.
10. The Simpson Cup
Will be held for one year by the Competitor, under the age of 25 years on the day, with the lowest gross score over day one’s 36 hole Stroke Play.
Each of these Cups will be decided by "count-back" if necessary.
