Affiliation to England Golf and the County

The purpose of the Kent Golf Union

Following the unification between The Kent Golf Union and Kent County Ladies Golf Association as approved and announced on 4th November 2020 at their respective AGMs, the company is now formally known as Kent Golf Limited. At the Board Meeting held following the AGMs, the new Board of Kent Golf Limited agreed that the Affiliation Fee for 2020 will remain at £11.00 for the men and increase to £11.00 for the ladies, thus creating parity for all members of Kent Golf Limited. The £11.00 Affiliation Fee is the rate as charged for all men, ladies, junior boys and junior girls of Kent affiliated golf clubs.

This will come into operation for all golf clubs that have a 1st November 2020 year start or later.

Announcement from England Golf dated 14th July 2020

The Board of England Golf has decided to maintain the level of affiliation fee for the 2021 season at £9.50. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis and lockdown period, England Golf has maintained an “essential spend” only policy, taking every measure possible to protect members’ funds. In addition, golf as a sector has “bounced back” sooner and more positively than expected, leading to our financial forecasts for 2020 looking more cautiously optimistic than before.  These forecasts are subject to monthly collections of affiliation fees which can, unfortunately, affect the surety of figures. However, we will look to provide a more definitive 2020 financial status update at our Annual General Meeting in September. Whilst our [England Golf] strategic spending for the balance of year remains under constant review (and subject to lockdown easing), our thoughts and plans for 2021, 2022 and 2023 remain energised and positive.
