Junior Championship - Handicap Rules

Championship Rules
1. Eligibility
Competitors must be under 18 years of age on 1st January of the year of the Championship entered and must be a member of a Club affiliated (and up to date with the payment of affiliation fees) to Kent Golf Limited. Entries will be limited to the number permitted by the Host Club, and if necessary, longer handicaps will be subject to ballot.

The Kent club must be the player’s HOME CLUB.

The minimum Handicap Index at time of entry is 9.5.
A player whose handicap index is below 9.5 at time of Championship will be entitled to play and shall do so off their lower handicap index.
A player may only represent their HOME CLUB in the Championship.

2. Caddies
Caddies are allowed but must be under 18 on 1st January of the year of the Championship entered.

3. The Competition
Play will be over 18 holes of medal stroke play. The Kent Golf General Competition Conditions shall apply.

4. The Junior Handicap Champion
Will be the player who returns the best NETT score. In the event of a Tie the Championship will be decided by "sudden death" play-off. The Champion will hold the "The Handicap Championship Trophy" for one year. If necessary, the 2nd and 3rd places will be decided on a "count-back".
County Vouchers will be awarded as prizes – 1st, 2nd and 3rd .

5. G. Hayward Trophy
Will be awarded to the competitor who, not having won any of the above, has, in the opinion of the Championship Committee, shown the most promise.
