Kent senior women’s first league match of the season was held at Canterbury GC on Monday 30th May on a day where showers always threatened but thankfully never got going. The cool wind was certainly a factor in club selection as the round progressed.

Sussex were unfortunate in having a player cry off on the morning of the match with covid and so were only able to come with 5 players, meaning that they gave our sixth player, Alison Kingston, a walkover in the final match.

The other matches were all very closely contested, with 3 of them going to the 18th.

Sussex is always a tough game and we were therefore very pleased to come out on top by 3.5 matches to 2.5 and a particular mention should be made of our county captain Tita’s performance against England senior international Aileen Greenfield.
