Lamberhurst awarded Golf Mark accreditation

LAMBERHURST GOLF CLUB

AWARDED GOLF MARK

Lamberhurst Golf Club has been awarded Golf Mark accreditation by England Golf.

Golf Mark is a national scheme, administered by the county golf unions in conjunction with the Regional Golf England Partnerships, which identifies and recognises junior and beginner friendly golf facilities.  It is assessed across three main criteria which are coaching and playing, the club environment plus child protection including the Club’s duty of care.  It is also recognised by Sport England as an accreditation for sports clubs with junior sections which meet the stringent Golf Mark standards.

Club Assistant Professional Rob Lowles who is also Junior Organiser, supported by the Club Committee, led the application for the award which demonstrates much of its progressive approach to, and access of, high quality coaching for junior golfers. This, together with Lamberhurst’s attention to child welfare and safeguarding, ensures young people learn the game in a safe, well organised and structured way.

The award was presented by James Pocknell, President of Kent Golf Union and Chairman of Kent Golf Partnership to Lamberhurst’s Chairman Alan Hicks and Rob Lowles at a ceremony held at the Club on Friday 21 February. Also present were Mo Gregory, Club Support Officer for Kent Golf Partnership and two juniors, Saker brothers Conner (13 handicap) and Callum(6 handicap) who have benefitted from Rob’s coaching.
