After holing his first shot of the day at the 10th, Tim Cracklen went on to win the morning singles with 39 Stableford points. Said Tim afterwards "I was tempted to call it a day after my first shot as I thought things could only get worse after that, however, my playing partner, Stuart Retour, encouraged me to continue and I'm glad he did".
The winners of the afternoon Foursomes Stableford on 41 points were Vincent Parker and Malcolm McLaughlin from Redlibbets GC.
Despite heavy overnight rain (the course manager, Mark Todd, advising the County Secretary on his arrival that he was at one time concerned that some areas of the course may become unplayable) the course held up well and was as always extremely well presented. 70 players competed (following two late withdrawals) and only suffered some occasional rain in the morning with even odd spells of sunshine in the afternoon.
The County thanks Wildernesse Club for hosting this popular event and as always the lunch and dinner offered by the club were of the highest standard. Dinner went down particularly well assisted by Tim Cracklen's generous gesture of wine on every table.
