At best, and with only one player finishing within 4 of his handicap, a single par, and just one player beating par, scoring was high. Dave Vigden (Bearsted) with par 70 led at lunch, 2 ahead of Mark Curtis (Woodlands Manor) and with Brian Walker (Dartford) 73 and Robert Osmond (Rochester & Cobham) 74. A disastrous re-start sent Vigden and Walker into the 80's and after an opening 82, a remarkable 13 shot improvement to a one under par 69, moved 14 year old George Dale (London Club & West Malling) to push for the lead in a tie on 151 with Neil Cordier (Sheerness), Curtis and Vigden. However, bettering his morning by one shot, Osmond reset the board finally at 147.
Ashford's Melvin Head took the Nett Cup with Cordier claiming a count-back for second over Osmond.
