The Kent Seniors Championship 2011

Ashford Golf Club were the hosts for this year's Championship and looked splendid as the first groups tee'd off at 0800 in glorious sunshine.  Within 30 minutes the heavens opened, for what thankfully was a passing shower.

David Jessup (Rochestesr & Cobham) led the morning scoring with 72 closely followed by Chris Buckley (Royal Cinque Ports) and Chris Reynolds (Littlestone) both on 73.  Howard Moxon's (Royal Cinque Ports) 79 was enough to win the "Seniors Championship  Over 70's Salver" (18 holes only).  Best nett round of the morning was Ian Burton (Mid Kent), Immediate Past President, with nett 68 (gross 84).

Again during the afternoon round the players had to deal with a couple of very heavy showers.  David Jessup returned another 72 to add to his morning 72 to win the Championship on 144, closely followed by Chris Reynolds 74 to total 147. Chris Hurst (Pedham Place) 75 added to his morning 75 placed him in 3rd position on 150.

Club Captain Chris Patridge presented the trophies.

In his winners speech David Jessup thanked the club for hosting the Championship with a special thanks to the greens staff for the excellent condition of the course.
