It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sue Coombe, a longstanding officer of Kent County Ladies Golf Association (KCLGA). Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
Sue joined the KCLGA committee in 1980-84, was County Captain 1992-93, President 2000-03 and made a Vice President in 1994.
Sue was also Junior Manager for SEELGA Div II. 1984-89 when she started the Junior County Week. Sue was their last President.
At Junior County Week an 18 hole stableford trophy is played for presented by Sue in 1985.
The golfing ladies in Kent also enjoy playing in the Coombe Cup a knock-out veteran foursomes match-play competition for players aged 68 years and over. This competition was introduced in 1995 and the trophy was donated by Sue.
Both Sue and her husband, Frank, were very supportive of the County and the team, travelling far and wide.
