Foursomes qualifier at Upminster Golf Club on 26th July 2010
A warm humid day at UGC saw Kent Seniors drawn against Hertfordshire in the AM session, whilst Essex played Middlesex.
The match against Herts was extremely close (shades of Thorpe Hall! where a similar situation had occurred) as the game score, and the points score, were exactly equal, the issue was therefore resolved by who had won the first match, fortunately it happened to be us.
Essex who had beaten Middlesex, were our PM opponents but the team got into their stride and beat them 5 matches to nil.
It is obvious that the team is full of Owls not Larks, however the final at South Bedfordshire Golf Club in October will see some of our ‘stars' missing, allowing a selection of people who can play in the mornings!
