U18s first league match of the season v Hants and Surrey

The first league match of the season saw the U18 Kent Boys play Hampshire and Surrey at Southwick Park near Portsmouth.
The team spirit throughout the day was great with lots of enthusiasm for the matches.
Tom Paterson, Abe Bignall and Josh Crabb were unbeaten in their games as we beat Hampshire 4 1/2 to 3 1/2. With three games going down the last hole against Surrey, we had a change to tie with them, but as we only managed one half on the last, Surrey won although the 6-2 score line rather flattered them.
Surrey were by far the strongest side with their highest handicap being scratch.
A great performance from a fairly young and inexperienced side. Plenty of promise for the season ahead.
