Pedham Place - Kent Golf Approved Junior Academy

COVID-19 Update

Following the Government announcement regarding the new National Lockdown effective 6th January 2021, we remain unable to hold any Kent Golf organised events and as such, all of our scheduled events are cancelled/postponed until further notice. This includes all adult and junior competitions as well as County Squad Sessions and Kent Golf Approved Junior Academy sessions.

At the current time all Kent Golf knock out competitions remain under review and will not open for entry on 18th January 2021 as previously advised. Once we are in a position to advise as to the status of the 2021 knock outs, we will update the website and notify all clubs and players via our social media channels.

We will continue to review the situation on a regular basis in accordance with updates from the Government together with guidance from our governing body, England Golf. It is imperative that we work to ensure the health and wellbeing of our members, players, staff and volunteers as well as all of those who work at our host golf clubs.

Information about the Kent Golf Approved Junior Academy at Pedham Place Golf Centre

A boys group held at Pedham Place Golf centre with County Lead Coach Tim Milford to assist players just below full squad standard to get to the required level. Monthly sessions on Friday evenings encompassing many elements to help improver technique and scoring capabilities.

Kent Golf have identified this area where young golfers can get lost once outside the boundaries of the squads and strive to keep them on the radar as all golfers develop at different ages and Kent Golf are keen not to lose these players and keep them enjoying the sport they have dedicated so much time to.

Tim uses TrackMan and the TopTracer launch monitors at Pedham for instant feedback. During the Spring and Summer these sessions will be more course based targeting "playing golf' rather than "hitting a golf ball'.

Information from Kieran Poole PGA Professional about the Under 14 Boys Academy

A boys group held monthly on a Wednesday evening or Saturday afternoon at Pedham Place golf centre with PGA Professional Keiran Poole, these sessions are aimed at improving performance and scoring capabilities of young keen golfers with aim to get them into the Under 14’s or future county squads.

These sessions will use Trackman and Toptracer to help identify and improve specific areas for development. The goal of these sessions is not to learn how just to swing the club and hit a ball but how to play golf, come the spring and summer season these sessions will be a lot more course based to aid playing and performance.
