Kent Futures Championships report

At last! A day with no rain and a nice bit of sunshine to help our 21 juniors around the course in this year’s third Futures event. Our host was the Weald of Kent, and they looked after us splendidly. All our young golfers enjoyed the challenge of playing the course and gaining valuable experience in how to negotiate ditches and ponds. For some, it was their first time completing 18 holes, so very well done to them – it can only get easier!
County President Jim Pocknell provided the very generous prizes for this competition and presented the winners with their lovely shiny trophies.
We look forward to seeing as many as possible at St. Augustine’s this Friday and then at the Jamboree at Lydd on 18 August.
