President’s Mixed Team Prize report

Date published: 6 Oct 2023

We were blessed with some late-season sunshine at Pedham Place for this year’s President’s Mixed Team Prize, where the teams play a stableford with the best two scores from four counting.

There was some terrific scoring on show and our winners on the day with 93 points – improving on last year’s second place – was the team of James Matthews (Canterbury), George Swayne (North Foreland) and Chris Matthews and Paul Bunyan (Stonelees).

Just two points behind and taking the runners-up spot was the team from Nizels, Martin Taylor, Jackie Taylor, Tim Moon and Susan Yarnold. Rounding out the top three on 90 points were Helen Johnson and Ian Mann (Shortlands), and Jane Marr and Paul Miles (Kings Hill).

Winning the longest drive for the women on the 12th hole was Julia Forrest (Sundridge Park) and for the men on the 13th it was Darren Read (Redlibbets). Showing accuracy with their irons and winning the nearest the pins were Jane King (Dartford) on the 7th and George Swayne who finished with a flourish on the 18th .

Thank you to Pedham Place for their hospitality and a lovely meal after play; a very nice end to an enjoyable day’s golf.
