Ed Richardson († 17.11.2023)

Date published: 21 Nov 2023

It is with deepest sadness and regret that we must inform you that Ed Richardson has passed away on Friday, 17th November.

Ed has been a prominent player within golf in Kent for many years. Extremely decorated as a player; representing Kent and England at all levels. Ed won many titles over the years, including the Hong Kong Amateur Championship and the Sussex Amateur Championship. Just this year, Ed won the French International Senior Men’s Amateur and was a member of England Seniors in a victorious Home Internationals campaign.

Ed was not just an outstanding player, but more importantly, a man with a vision to give back to the game he loved. Founding Get Golfing in 2018, the goal is to make golf more accessible for others. Twelve courses, 300 employees, 6000 members, and 1500+ under 18s able to play the game for free, it’s clear that Ed has left an indelible mark on the golfing community.

He will be missed by so many. Those who knew him best will remember fondly his dry wit and unique charm. Ed was a friend, mentor, player, and philanthropist; a man with a vision to grow the game. It’s a wonderful legacy and a testament to a great person who simply loved golf. Everyone associated with Kent Golf is incredibly proud of Ed and his tremendous work.

Our thoughts are with his family. Arrangements for the funeral will be shared in due course.

Rest in Peace Ed.
