The match was played in dry and very sunny conditions and, as usual with Royal Blackheath, in a competitive but very convivial atmosphere.
Kent Seniors were victorious 3-2, with solid performances from newcomer Gary Vickops, supported by the experience of David Weighton and Peter Remy, making an impressive debut.
Dave Jessup and Chris Hurst often take on the responsibility to lead the team and it was no exception in this match and a close encounter took place with the youngest members of the Royal Blackheath team.
The outstanding performance of the day came from Ricky Moore, one of the most experienced seniors in the squad. He rattled off a hatfull of birdies on the front nine to provide the platform for Derek Pettet to consolidate their position on the back nine for a 1 up win.
The partnership of Ross Galgut and Rob Whitington could not have worked better as they achieved the best result of the day, a 6&5 victory.
Well done to the whole squad for contributing to such an enjoyable start to the season.
