MENS AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

The Kent Amateur Championship is to be held at The Royal St George’s Club in June 2023 for the first time in Kent Golf’s history (98 years). As previously advised No General Play cards will be allowed in a Players 8 counting scores from their last 20 on their WHS record. 

The Kent Golf Championship Committee reserves the right to invite past winners from the last 5 years and as well as appropriate representative players from the Kent Men’s squads to submit an entry.   

The decisions taken by the Championship Committee for the Kent Amateur Championship is final

FORMAT: 36 holes of stroke play on day 1.  Top 16 players to qualify for Matchplay knockout on the 3rd and 4th June to decide the County Champion

VENUE: The Royal St George's GC

ENTRY CRITERIA

  • HI: Maximum HI 2.4 at closing date of entry
  • AGE: Open to players of all ages
  • GENDER: MALE 
  • PRIZES: 
  • The Champion will hold the Championship Cup. 
  • The Runner-Up will hold the Hetherington Salver. 
  • The Scratch Cup Will be held for one year by the Competitor with the lowest gross score over day one’s 36 holes Stroke Play. 
  • The Astor Cup Will be held for one year by the Competitor with the lowest nett score over day one’s 36 holes Stroke Play. 
  • The Simpson Cup Will be held for one year by the Competitor, under the age of 25 years on the day, with the lowest gross score over day one’s 36 holes Stroke Play.
  • ENTRY FEE: £55
  • CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES: 19TH MAY AT 17:00hrs. Late entries will not be accepted but may be added to a reserve list. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE ISSUED AFTER THE CLOSING DATE

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Players must be a member of an affiliated Kent club. The Club must be your “home” club
  • Entry limited to 72 players
  • By entering, you are committing to potentially playing 6 rounds of golf in 3 days
  • The Champion is also expected to represent the County in the England Golf "Champion of Champions" National Competition on 16th-17th September at Woodhall Spa
  •  Caddies are allowed, other than a qualified professional golfer.
