Kent Golf Limited (“Kent Golf”) is committed to protecting your privacy under the Data Protection Act 1988 and subsequent legislation.  Kent Golf has strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information that you have given to them, to prevent unauthorised access.  This privacy policy sets out how we use and protect any information that you give us when you use this website.

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.  Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Collecting Personal InformationC

This website is free to browse through and read.  However, on few occasions there is the opportunity to fill in a form and provide information on yourself:

We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal information:

(a) information about your computer and about your visits to and use of this website (including your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation);

(b) information that you provide to us for the purpose of entering a competition or communication with us. For example, if you enter a Kent Golf competition or if you fill out a contact form through this website, you will be providing Kent Golf with personal information;

(c) information that you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to any website service that Kent Golf might provide, email notifications and/or newsletters

Cookies

What does Kent Golf do with the information?

Personal information will be used solely for notifying you in relation to competitions that you have entered or advising you of changes to that competition or subsequent events which you may wish to enter or to respond to your questions or comments.

(c) enable your use of the services available on the website;

(d) send you email notifications which you have specifically requested;

(e) provide third parties with statistical information about the users of this website - but this information will not be used to identify any individual user;

(f) deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to the website;

(g) where you have asked to receive the same, sending out news and updates through Mailchimp.

Where you submit personal information for publication on the Kent Golf website, Kent Golf will publish and otherwise use that information in accordance with the license you grant.

Kent Golf will not without your express consent provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of direct marketing.

Legal Basis for Use

When we use Mailchimp in relation to an email newsletter, the legal basis for processing your data is your consent, which is granted by subscribing to the newsletter.  Similarly, where you provide information when entering a competition or provding deatils for safeguarding you have provided consent to our using that data for those purposes.

Disclosure

Kent Golf may disclose information about you to any of its employees, officers, agents insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy.

In addition, we may disclose your personal information:

(a) to the extent that we are required to do so by law;

(b) in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;

(c) in order to establish, exercise or defend Kent Golf’s legal rights.

Except as provided in this privacy policy, we will not provide your information to third parties.

Who processes my information?

Kent Golf (and those people employed by Kent Golf to help make this site, its content and services) use the information which you provide.  In addition, personal information provided when subscribing to our newsletters mat be stored both in our internal IT systems and in those of Mailchimp.

Information IS NOT without your specific consent shared with or sold to any partner companies or other agents.

Security of your personal information

We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information.

We will store all the personal information you provide on Kent Golf’s secure (password- and firewall- protected) servers. All electronic transactions you make to or receive from us will be encrypted using SSL technology.

Of course, data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.

International data transfer

Where you submit any personal information for publication on the Kent Golf website such information will be published on the internet and may be available, via the internet, around the world. Kent Golf cannot prevent the use or misuse of such information by others.

Where you have subscribed to our newsletters, we use Mailchimp, a US-based email service, to store your details and send you our newsletter.  In the process of working with Mailchimp your data may be transferred outside the EEA, to the United States and processed there. (See next paragraph for more detail)

Use of Mailchimp for Email Newsletters

Where you have subscribed for our email newsletters and these are processed through Mailchimp, your personal data is stored on our IT infrastructure and shared with Mailchimp as a data processor.  The information may, therefore, be transferred and stored securely outside the European Union. Where that is the case it will be subject to equivalent legal protection through the use of Model Contract Clauses and the supplier’s membership of the Privacy Shield scheme.  Mailchimp sets out how it protects your personal information in its Privacy Policy.
