Eligibility Entry is limited to male members of clubs affiliated to KENT GOLF LIMITED (and which are up to date with affiliation fee payments) who are in possession of a WHS Handicap Index of 8.7 or under and aged 53 years or over on the closing date for the competition. The Kent club must be the player’s HOME CLUB. Entries will be limited in number to 60 players. If necessary, longer handicaps will be subject to a ballot will be drawn on Handicap Index taking into account the General Play card rules.
2. The Competition The Kent Golf General Competition Conditions shall apply. The competition will consist of stroke play over 18 holes under the rules of the R & A. Disputes must be referred immediately after the completion of the round to the Committee and its decision shall be final. Gross and handicap prizes will be awarded to the competitors in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places and these prizes will be awarded at the final. There is no presentation on the day. No competitor may win both gross and handicap prizes. Ties will be resolved by count-back. If the qualifier is cancelled due to bad weather, the competition will not be rearranged and the 30 players with the lowest handicap indices on the last published start sheet will progress to the final at Royal St. George’s.
3. Practice Rounds Competitors should make their own arrangements with the Secretary of the host club. A practice round may be a courtesy offered by the Club but competitors should be prepared to pay a green fee if required.
4. Caddies Players are not allowed caddies.
5. Order of Play Starting times will be allocated in handicap order.
