THE KENT YOUTHS’ CHAMPIONSHIP

Championship Rules


1. Eligibility
Competitors must be Male members of a Club affiliated to the KENT GOLF UNION, and be under the age of 25 years on the day of the Championship, and be in possession of a CONGU handicap of 8 or less at the date of entry. Entrants 18 to 25 years of age will get automatic entry subject to handicap and numbers. Entrants under 18 years of age will be balloted on handicap and availability of places.
The Kent club must be the player’s HOME CLUB.

Total entries will be limited to 39, the number permitted by the Host Club and, if necessary, longer handicaps will be subject to ballot.

2. The Competition
Play will be over 36 holes of stroke play. The KGU General Competition Conditions shall apply.

3. Caddies.
Caddies are allowed, other than a qualified P.G.A. professional golfer, provided that, in the case of a competitor under the age of 18, his caddy must also be under the age of 18.

4. The Youths’ Champion
Will be the player who returns the lowest gross score. In the event of a tie the Championship will be decided by "sudden death" play off. The Champion will be given a Medal and will hold the "Challenge Cup" for one year. If necessary, the recipients of the 2nd and 3rd places will be decided by "count-back".

The winner will receive a County Voucher for £100, £50 for the runner up and £25 for 3rd place.

5. The Handicap Cup
Will be held for one year by the player returning the lowest nett score. A Tie for this Cup will be decided on "count-back". Tankards will be presented to the first three players.

The winner will receive a County Voucher for £75, £50 for the runner up and £25 for 3rd place.
