Having languished under grey skies in Kent for at least a week, the Kent senior women travelled to play Sussex at Royal Eastbourne and enjoyed a lovely sunny day.

Whether it was the weather, the sea views or just simply the chance to show off their skills, the Kent team negotiated a tricky and hilly heathland layout extremely well. The par 3s usually had a precipice on one side of the green and there were numerous par 5s, requiring a combination of accuracy with irons and well struck woods. The slopey greens were in nice condition, so good putting was also rewarded.

The Kent team were undefeated, winning 2 matches and halving the other 2 for an overall 3-1 result. The match was played in a friendly spirit and the host club was most welcoming. A good day out was had by all
