Blackmoor Golf Club in Hampshire was the venue for our 3rd Stovold trophy match of the season on a very hot and sunny day. The foursomes matches were closely contested - with Kent taking the first match and Hampshire edging the remaining two, to give Hants a 2-1 lead at lunch. Hampshire started strongly in the singles but our team fought back and some great golf was played by both sides. All the Hampshire players had an advantage of lower handicaps than our girls and this gave them an edge over the closing holes and they took a clean sweep of all 6 matches. We were, however, very proud that our team fought hard and only lost by narrow margins – no mean feat considering the difference in handicaps.
Thanks to the host club for looking after us very well and presenting us with a great course to play on.
