On a very pleasant late summer’s day, Kent senior women’s team played Middlesex at Canterbury in an important league match. Both teams were undefeated at the start of the day and so the match would have a big bearing on the league title for 2021. Indeed if Middlesex won or halved, they would win the title, however Kent still needed to win one more match as well as this one.
Middlesex had come for a practice round on the previous afternoon and stayed locally so that they could be fresh for the match. The Kent team had also done their homework with practice rounds in the week before the match and therefore all was set for a good contest.
First tee wobbles soon gave way to some excellent golf with plenty of birdies and the Kent team went from strength to strength, coming out victorious in all 6 games. This victory sets up the season’s finale against Essex on 20th September when a win will secure us the league honours.
From L to R: Kim Morris (Sundridge Park), Ali Kingston (Canterbury), Tita McCart (Sundridge Park), Sandy Hallet (Prince's) and Angela Jones (Canterbury)
