Senior Men's first league match of the season

Date published: 24 May 2023

The Kent Senior Men lost their first League match of the season to Surrey, 6-4 at Richmond GC. It was a very tight match in difficult conditions, with several matches being decided on the 17th and 18th holes, so perhaps home advantage made a small but crucial difference. Kent had good wins from Danny Holmes against a former European Tour player, birdieing the 18th to win, and both Andy Francis and Martin Farbrace holding on to win their matches on the 18th. Danny Curtis won his match on the 17th hole. Richard Tomlin and Mark Haffenden couldn’t quite convert tight matches, only losing on the 18th.

We move on to play Sussex in June at Crowborough Beacon GC.
