Delivering junior golf taster sessions across Kent

Date published: 23 Jun 2023

We have been busy delivering golf taster sessions across Kent this week.

One was delivered by Barry Chris and Dean Nash, who visited St Anselms Catholic School. They delivered a one hour session to children with a disability using Golfway equipment. There were 7 children in total who ranged from 12 to 16 years of age, two of whom were Ukranian brothers who were visually impaired and had to have a translator with them. All children were fully involved and engaged in having fun with the three separate challenges Barry and Dean had set up. Each of the juniors received a Kent Golf goody bag as a thank you.

The other was delivered by Kim Brusadelli (our Junior Development Officer), who ran taster sessions for the 1st Shorne Beavers and then Cub Scouts also using the Golfway equipment. There were 10 Beavers and 20 Cubs. Everyone enjoyed using the equipment and playing the team games. It enabled the Cubs to get their sports badge for trying two new sports, so everyone was a winner!
