The Darenth was our host for the West Kent Qualifier in this year's Race to St. George's series and all 44 players enjoyed a sunny afternoon of golf and the club's very generous hospitality.
There was some fine scoring, and the best round of the day belonged to Robert Payne (Kings Hill), who shot a three- under-par 69. Taking second place in the scratch competition was Theo Rowe (North Foreland) with a round of level par, one shot ahead of Luca Biddulph (Poult Wood) in third.
Taking the nett honours with a 68 was Harry Fryer (Rochester and Cobham Park), one shot ahead of Louis French (Bearsted) and Elliot Swift (Boughton), who took second and third places respectively.
The final qualifier will be the rescheduled fixture at Sene Valley on Sunday 17 September, where competition will undoubtedly be fierce as the youngsters try their hardest to make it to the season finale at Royal St. George's.
