Junior Organisers' Workshop report

The 2024 Junior Organiser's Workshop was held at Bearsted Golf Club. It was a fun and interesting evening with lots of healthy discussion and idea-sharing between clubs.
Kent Club Support Officer, Allison Boozer from England Golf, told us all about the new exciting EG initiatives, including the new Girls Golf Rocks Ambassadors, updates on all clubs requiring EDI policies, The EG Junior Golf Strategy, and the Community Golf Instructor courses available.
Mike Hollis from The Golf Foundation ran a very interesting interactive quiz, which revealed ideas around building a strong junior section.
Kent Golf Welfare Office Barbara Burns spoke about a fairly sensitive subject, wrongly input scores and cheating, and also about the difficulties in team selection with juniors and bullying within the section.
Tim Ewer, Junior Development Officer for Kent, spoke about the Junior Pathway within the County, and also about the new initiatives for 2024, the Autism Acceptance Week of events, and the introduction of VI golf sessions and VI foot-golf starting in the Spring.
