Spring Meeting report

Date published: 18 Mar 2024

The London Golf Club, Ash, was bathed in beautiful early morning sunshine as the players assembled for the Kent Golf Spring Meeting, where the ever-popular fourball betterball format saw a full field of 72 competitors doing battle over the Heritage course.

With the weather favouring the early starters it was no surprise that the brace of 45 points that came in from the first few groups would not be bettered all day. Emerging as champions were Brandon McCormack and Ben Edge (both Kings Hill), who beat Alexander Moore (Cherry Lodge) and Jon Bromley (Sundridge Park) on countback. Rounding out the top three were Paul Wilson and Steve Deacon (both West Malling) with 42 points.

Nearest the pin sharpshooters were David Walters (Eltham Warren) and Karen Taylor (Redlibbets), and our big-hitting longest drive winners were Luke Rouse (Boughton) and Jane Marr (Kings Hill).

Our thanks go to the London Golf Club for their kind and efficient hospitality and we look forward to returning again in 2025.
