Don't miss your chance to be part of the Melanoma Fund’s Pledge2Check initiative! As part of the Slip! Slap! Swing! campaign, it’s gaining momentum with over 400 golfers and greenkeepers already signed up. Ensure your community is involved too!
The charity is building a golfing community committed to checking their skin monthly for six months. With support from UK golf organisations and clubs, the goal is to enrol over 1,000 participants.
Skin cancer is a serious risk for everyone in golf due to prolonged sun exposure, with over 20,000 melanoma cases diagnosed annually in the UK. Unfortunately, only 29% of golfers regularly check their skin. This initiative promotes a simple, life-saving habit that can detect melanoma early and save lives.
Involvement is free and easy to implement, using the Pledge2Check toolkit, which includes posters and banners to help spread awareness. Plus, all who complete the pledge will receive a Solex wellness goodie bag, and the 10 clubs with the most sign-ups will receive a sunboard and sunscreen worth £69.00
