Winter Fourball 2024/25 Finals Day report

After battling through numerous matches during the cold and wet off-season, our Winter Fourball finalists assembled at West Kent Golf Club for the denouement of the 2024-25 competition.
In Division A, defending champions, Sandy Hallet and Ali Chapman (Prince’s), took on the Nizels pairing of Nikki Jones and Janette Withey. Unfortunately for Sandy and Ali, there was to be no repeat of last year’s triumph as the steady play of the opposition meant the trophy was destined to go elsewhere. Congratulations to Nikki and Janette for their good play on the day and a well-deserved 3&2 victory.
In our inaugural Division B final, Nizels were again represented, this time by Cheh Ngim Ratcliffe and Dawn Pearson, and they were taking on the Shooters Hill duo of Jacqui Briscoe and Helen Johnson. Cheh Ngim and Dawn took control of the match and, despite a valiant fightback from Jacqui and Helen, they held on to clinch victory on the eighteenth green, thus doing the double for Nizels.
Well done to all our finalists for making it through, and our thanks go to Cheryl Power and Ian Palmer for refereeing the games.
