On this very day 100 years ago, the Kent Golf Union was formed.

Today marks a very special day in the history of Kent Golf. On 29th April 1925, a meeting took place to form the Kent Golf Union.

"The proposed rules as circulated to all Golf Clubs were considered; and after consideration and amendment were framed as follows:

1. The Union shall be called "THE KENT GOLF UNION."
2. The Union shall consist of recognised Golf Clubs having either male members only or both male and female members, and having courses in the geographical County of Kent.
3. The objects of the Union shall be
(i) To institute and manage Golf Championship Meetings for the County.
(ii) To arrange and manage Golf Matches with other Counties, and such other Golf Matches as the Council may think desirable.
(iii) To encourage and promote the interests of the Game of Golf by the means aforesaid, and by such other means as the Council may think desirable.
(iv) To act in conjunction with the English Golf Union and other County or District Unions or Associations for any of the objects aforesaid....
