Kent Men's Senior Team v Surrey

Kent’s senior men's team narrowly lost their first league match of the season to Surrey at Purley Downs GC by 5½ - 4½. The match was played in great spirit between the two teams in breezy conditions.
Danny Holmes (Rochester & Cobham Park) showed his England quality in the top match by beating former England player Ian Attoe 3/2 (picture attached). This was followed by excellent wins from Matt Jarvis (Rochester & Cobham Park) and Andy Francis (Bearsted).
James Jones (Wrotham Heath) on his County seniors debut had a comprehensive 4/3 win (also pictured).
Richard Tomlin (Sundridge Park) was unlucky only to get half a point, with 4 other games coming down to the 17th or 18th greens, but each going the way of the Surrey team.
