Men's 1st Team v Hampshire match report

What a match. In one of the tightest 1st Team fixtures in recent memory, Kent battled back from a 3–1 deficit after the morning foursomes to earn a hard-fought 6–6 draw away to a very strong Hampshire side, unbeaten since 2022.
Conditions were windy and firm, but the standard of golf was simply outstanding. Our afternoon singles performance, following a clear game plan laid out by Coach Benn, showed huge character and belief.
It all came down to the final hole of the final match. Jacob Kelso’s birdie attempt lipped out on 18 — and with it, the narrowest chance of a famous away win.
Huge credit to Hampshire for a brilliant match played in great spirit. We wish them well for the season and look forward to seeing them again at the 6 Man in July.
