Our second qualifier of the year was hosted by Prince's Golf Club on a bright but blustery day, where 52 of our most talented youngsters took to the beautiful links to try to gain some valuable points for the Order of Merit. The club made the competitors most welcome and provided yardage charts and tee pegs for all, which were very enthusiastically received!
Despite the testing conditions, there was some very impressive scoring, and Teagan Ford (Bearsted) took the scratch with a 72 on countback from Littlestone’s Arthur Saunders. Just behind on 73 was Teagan’s brother, Oscar. I’m sure he’ll be looking for revenge next time!
In the nett competition, Ashford’s Elliott Flisher looked to have it sewn up with a 70, only for the last player off the course, Harry Warren (North Foreland), to pip him with a 69. Taking third spot was Knole Park’s Nathan Staples.
We thank Prince’s for their terrific hospitality, and I’m sure many of the juniors are already looking forward to returning for the 2026 Junior Championships.
The next round of the Race to St. George’s will be on 24th July at Lamberhurst.
