2025 Centenary Week – Day 3 report

Date published: 30 May 2025

Our final Club Invitational took place at Bearsted on a day of mixed weather conditions as a cool and overcast start eventually gave way to sunshine. Our fifteen competing clubs enjoyed the interesting layout, and there was some brilliant scoring to boot.

Taking first place with a magnificent 90 points was the team from Ashford – Guy Baxter, David James, Janet James and Neil Tegg – four points ahead of the runners-up, Andy Davies, Claudia Carlotti, Tina Bird and Christopher Stephens, representing Canterbury. Rounding out the winners was the team from Littlestone – Nicholas Manser, Philip Bramall, Paul Brown and Lucy Bramall with 79 points.

Longest drive prizes went to two Canterbury players – Andy and Claudia – and the nearest the pins were won by Mick Barry (Wildernesse) and Sue Gofton (West Malling).

Our thanks go to Bearsted GC for hosting us so well and to all the teams for taking part and helping us celebrate our special year.
