It is with a very heavy heart that we advise of the terribly sad and sudden death on Saturday of our Vice President, Peter Long. Peter was well known and highly respected, having served the county for many, many years not only as a voluntary senior rules official and course rater, but as a long standing Director and the Chair of Kent Golf. Peter was instrumental in the unification of KCLGA and KGU, and after a prestigious career in law, he regularly gave his time freely to offer guidance on the Company Articles and Rules of Kent Golf. Peter was a prominent and popular member of Sundridge Park GC, where he served as Captain two years ago, as well as a member of Littlestone GC, where he also enjoyed playing his golf.
Our heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with Peter’s wife Ingrid, their family and friends at this sad and difficult time.
Peter was a true gentleman and friend and will be greatly missed by us all.
