Cloud, sun, wind, a little shower of rain… just another typical summer’s day in England! Despite the testing conditions, our 24 players in this year’s senior ladies’ Rooke Salver greatly enjoyed the well-presented course at Langley Park.
Good scoring was hard to come by, and only two players beat their handicaps with 37 points. Just edging it, courtesy of a better back nine, and taking the trophy, was Shirley Beglinger (Sundridge Park) from runner-up, Jackie Taylor (Nizels). Third place went to another Nizels player, Denise Carr, on 35 points, again on countback from Christine Edgar (Sundridge Park).
Our thanks go to Cheryl Power for starting the players off on their rounds and also to Langley Park Golf Club for their excellent hospitality and for making us feel so welcome.
