Our U13 Kent Boys, led by Captain Alexander Dunmall, played a friendly match at Knole Park GC against a U13 side from Hampshire.
The Hampshire side consisted of some very strong players from clubs such as Stoneham, Royal Jersey, Army, and Wellow, with some boys and parents travelling over from the Isle of Wight and Jersey - that’s dedication.
Knole Park was in incredible condition and looked magnificent in the early evening sun, in perfect weather, enjoyed by the group of parents following them round.
For many of the players, it was their first time at Knole, a couple of the Hampshire lads had played the evening before, and some had walked a few of the holes.
Scoring was good, and the matches were tight, all played in a tremendous spirit, just the right mix of competition and camaraderie, applauding good shots from either side. It was great to see.
The score was 6-4 to Kent.
It is now going to be a regular fixture in the U13s' diary, with Kent travelling to Hampshire next year. We look forward to meeting our opponents again.
