The Kent U13 Boys played in The Triple Shield Match on Thursday at a very lovely and sunny Cowdray GC in Sussex.
The match, played annually between Kent, Surrey & Sussex, is played in the same triangular format as the U14 SE League.
For 2025, each county fielded 10 players, all counting, which is a new introduction. All the boys played really amazing golf, and Kent were the overall winners, actually by some margin.
It was great to see how many parents had gone the night before and stayed over with their boys. There was a real ‘family’ feel to the squad, which I’m sure helped on the day.
It was especially nice to see players who have been right through the Kent pathway, including Invicta 10s and 12s, performing at this very high level.
This team will now form the nucleus for the U14s in 2026, so the future is very bright.
Many thanks to all parents for their support, to Cowdray Park GC for hosting, and a special mention to Peter Parks at Hever Castle GC for getting them prepped for this season.
