Kent senior women’s team came well prepared to give Sussex — last year’s league winners — a real run for their money at Pyecombe, Sussex. This fixture was always likely to be the decider for this year’s league title.
After a sharp warm-up session at Burgess Hill driving range, followed by chipping and putting practice at Pyecombe, the team was ready to face a hot day on a hilly, bouncy course. They fought hard against opponents who used their local knowledge of the course to their advantage, which in the end resulted in a very close match just going Sussex’s way. With 3 matches going down the 18th, the overall result was always in the balance, and we were unfortunate to only get one half point from these 3 games.
Many thanks to Pyecombe Golf Club for hosting.
