What an absolutely incredible day of county golf at Chislehurst Golf Club on Sunday!
Kent vs Surrey in the league decider was everything county golf should be - highly competitive, played in great spirits, with steely determination from every single player on both sides.
The morning foursomes were incredibly tense and tightly fought. Our boys showed tremendous character with a brilliant comeback that had us right back in contention. The golf from both teams was simply exceptional.
Going down 18 with three matches dormie 1 up, we looked set for the league title... but Surrey produced some of the most extraordinary golf under pressure you'll ever see. Three clutch birdies to halve those matches, followed by another birdie on the final hole of the final match to claim victory.
The fight and desire shown by everyone was phenomenal. The camaraderie between both teams was fantastic, and the competition was as good as any county match we can remember.
Huge congratulations to Surrey - worthy champions who played incredible golf when it mattered most.
We're obviously disappointed not to be league champions, but we couldn't be prouder of this team and everything they've achieved this season. The spirit, the fight, the quality of golf - it's been outstanding.
And remember - there's still the cherry on top of the cake to come! We're through to the national finals at St Enodoc in September, representing the Southeast as we chase that national championship.
