The final match of the season took place at Sundridge Park, with the Kent team keen to finish well. The first morning fousomes match went to Sussex, but both the remaining two were very closely contested and were halved 2-1 to Sussex at lunch. The team, after finishing well in the singles in last week’s match, were determined to have a repeat performance and came out fighting. The wind came up during the afternoon, making the course quite tricky, but great performances from all the players saw Kent take the singles 5½ - ½. Congratulations to rookie Mia on her 1½ points in her first match and to all the Kent players who have played this season.
Whilst not winning the Stovold Trophy, the Squad have given their all this season – team spirit is high and as Gill & Ingrid step down after 6 years at the helm, they wish the whole Squad under Ali Ord, the very best of luck next year.
Many thanks to Sundridge Park for hosting our home matches this year and to all our players for being real team players.
