Disability Family Day with Golf & BBQ report

Date published: 9 Sep 2025

Last weekend, a very sunny Stonelees Golf Centre hosted our annual Family Disability Day.

Kids, siblings, and parents all got nicely warmed up, honing their skills firstly on the putting green, then on the range, before all playing together in a Texas Scramble competition on the par 3 course.

The standard this year was on a different level, with the winning team scoring gross 2 under par!

We would like to thank Stonelees’s Gary Bason for his tireless work with his Disability Academy, Suzannah Chapman (General Manager), and the rest of the Stonelees team for their very warm welcome again, and the very tasty BBQ which followed the golf. We would also like to thank Kent volunteer Jack Moodie for his valuable assistance on the day.

The winners this year were the Mullins Family – Ethan, Kaitlyn, Cohen, Katrina & Kevin, with the incredible score of -2. All members of the family played their part in the score, and Ethan’s brand-new clubs worked a treat.

The Mullins Family was presented with the prestigious Ford Cup, which will be engraved and played for again in 2026, and as the standard is getting so high, there are talks of moving the competition to the trickier par 3 course...
