The Kent Golf Order of Merit reached its conclusion on Sunday with the playing of the Teise Trophy at Lamberhurst. Flying high after doing the Kent Cob/Bishops Bowl double last weekend, Chislehurst’s Liam Burns finished his season with a flourish by carding a 36-hole total of 141 (-3) to make it a hattrick. Those three wins, combined with a second, third, and runner-up spot in the Amateur, were enough to give Liam the 2025 Order of Merit title by seven points from defending champion Charlie Hickling (Wildernesse). Charlie made a great effort to retain the trophy with five top-five finishes, including one win, across the season, but it’s hard to deny the Burns when he’s in full flow! Taking third spot with a creditable six top-five finishes this year was Upchurch River Valley’s Greg Diddams.
Congratulations to all three players for some splendid golf in 2025. In total, 162 different players scored points in this year’s Order of Merit – five up on last year – and the competition continues to go from strength to strength.
Thank you to all of the clubs that hosted an event and for their support of our talented county players.
