Kent welcomed Middlesex to West Kent Golf Club on a sunny day with strong north easterly winds, the sort of day when you kept thinking about taking a layer off, then putting it back on again.
The greens were in good condition, and the putting was quite challenging on the slopey surfaces. The match was very closely contested and was all tied up after 4 games had finished, each side having one win and the other 2 games being halved. The teams were watching from the clubhouse terrace, trying to work out how the last 2 games were getting on, and it was only when the last game was completed on the 18th green that we could celebrate our hard-fought win.
This completes our league match season and confirms Kent's 2nd place in the league.
Our thanks go to the club for a warm welcome and some excellent catering.
