Ashford GC took full advantage of a home venue as they hosted this year's Guilford Final against Gillingham GC.
The morning foursomes was dominated by some very steady play by Ashford on a course that was exceptional to play on, the green staff had obviously worked very hard that week to produce greens that Gillingham themselves said were the best they had played on all season.
Ashford lead 3-1 after the morning foursomes.
Ashford repeated their excellent play from the morning and Gillingham found Ashford just too strong in the afternoon singles matches managing to win only 2 of the 8 matches.
Gillingham were unlucky to have 4 of their first team players unavailable whilst Ashford had their full squad of top players.
It has been 36 years since Ashford GC last won the Guilford Trophy in 1989.
After winning 9-3 Ashford now meet Knole Park, the winners of the Perman Shield, to play for the Mid Kent Cup.
