Race to St George's Final Day report

Date published: 2 Nov 2025

A trip to The Royal St. George's Golf Club in Sandwich never disappoints, and this time was no exception. The course looked stunning, bathed as it was in glorious autumn sunshine, with hardly a cloud in the sky, as our twenty Race to St. George’s finalists assembled for the closing competition of the Kent Golf junior season.

There was some terrific golf on display from our ever-improving youngsters, and the round of the day belonged to Dartford’s Tommy Hulance, who shot a gross 67, 3 under par, with a card that contained only 3s and 4s; a rare and fine feat. Runner-up in the scratch was Selina Bartarya (Chelsfield Lakes) with 70 (adjusted), with Littlestone’s Arthur Saunders coming third with a 71.

The best nett prize went to Michael Haywood (Rochester and Cobham) with a 66, with the runner-up being Ashford’s Elliott Flisher on 68. Rounding out the prize winners on the day was Henry Stedman Collins (Sene Valley) with a solid 69. Elliott Flisher’s good round moved him up into third place in the final Order of Merit standings, and Selina Bartarya secured second place with her excellent performance at Royal St. George’s. However, no one could dislodge Elliot Swift (Boughton) from the top of the rankings as he claimed the title of 2025 Race to St. George’s Champion.

A heartfelt thank you to the team at Royal St. George’s for making us so welcome and for giving our twenty fortunate finalists a special and memorable day.

Thanks must also go to our Kent Golf referees and volunteers – Ian, Allan, Britta, Tim, Chris and Ingrid – for giving up their time to assist with the running of the event.
