Disability Golf Clinic at Royal St George's GC report

Date published: 8 Nov 2025

During October half-term, Kent Golf ran another Disability Clinic at Royal St. George's Golf Club.

We were invited back following our very successful first visit back in August during the club’s Junior Week.

As before, Royal St George's looked after us very well, providing a fantastic lunch on arrival, where everyone got to know each other before heading down to the practice area.

The clinic started with some work in the hitting bays, which was led by both Gary Bason from Stonelees GC and our new Disability Golf Ambassador Ben Heaton from Walmer & Kingsdown GC.

Ben spoke very passionately about his journey and how he has overcome his disability to become a Professional golfer. The kids listened intently to his inspirational story.

He then proceeded to demonstrate the very high standard he has achieved by hitting some incredible shots, especially with his driver, carrying 285 yards, before working individually with each person there on their swings.

Following the work on the range, we walked over behind the famous 18th green towards the 1st tee and onto the putting green, where the kids did some putting drills to end the day.

Another very successful clinic, many thanks to all at Royal St George's for their very warm welcome, and we very much look forward to coming back in the spring.
